#89 Drive an Expensive Sports Car

I went to Las Vegas last week and found a race track that lets you drive sports cars around their track. I chose the Toyota Supra which isn’t their most expensive sports car, but I chose that one so I could drive around in something I would feel comfortable in. The Supra is valued at $65k.

I got to drive 15 laps in a the Supra and I had an instructor with me the whole time. I got some awesome racing tips and tricks and by the end of it I felt confident in driving at speeds I never thought I’d get to and I got to go 127mph on the straight away, which just felt fantastic.

Driving the Supra was easily one of the best times I’ve had in a long time!

#91 Have a Car Chase

It has been brought to my attention that I have in fact done this and completely forgot!

Before I begin my narrative let me introduce you to my friend Emily. Emily is hilarious, beautiful, joyful, so randomly brilliant, and so unbelievably crazy that she is one of my favorite humans to be around. She forced her way into my life and I love her for it.

Back in high school and probably even now Emily’s type of man was a Bearded Gentleman with a Big Truck.

Long ago when Emily and I were in the same state and I did not have a driver’s license and for reasons I can’t really remember we had my mom’s Scion XB. Which is basically just a car that looks like a box and doesn’t have any necessary need for speed that would be desired/ideal for a car chase. So of course that was the car that we had on this day.

Now if I’m being honest I have absolutely no idea what we were doing that day, but I can tell you exactly where we were on the highway when Emily spotted a good looking truck that passed us and she swore the guy driving it was just her type. So of course she speeds up to try to pass him and get a proper look at him. Now the Scion isn’t good with speed, she’s getting the Scion up there, but this guy is hauling. Full on does not care what the speed limit is and our tiny box car is not even on his radar. Of course Emily doesn’t care about that and guns the Scion and pursues the heck out of this truck.

Does this story verge on stalker territory? A little, but the reason it doesn’t is cause remember that I said we were in a Scion, well we were also going up a highway that is 65mph that heads into elevation. Now this isn’t a problem if you have a car that has power and has no problem with elevation increase. Ah but the lil Scion does not have that power. Going up a hill it drops 20mph and you sitting at a comfy 45mph til you can make it to where the speed limit is actually 45mph.

So did we even get close to this guy? No. Not at all. Did we make an effort? Yes. Did we have the worst possible car for a car chase? Absolutely. Should we still have tried? Yes, that could have been Emily’s future husband and we had to give it a shot; even though it was a fail.

So there ya have it y’all I was actually involved in a car chase back in the day. Maybe not super dramatic, but not everything in life has to be dramatic. Plus a casual car chase just happening sounds like the ideal for a circumstance goal.

Personal

This is the list that is the been there done that; it was awesome. It’s the stuff I want to accomplish just for the heck of it and be able to brag about (hopefully not annoyingly, but happily).

Personal Goals:

9 Ball Break and Run
- Listen I am in a pool league and I am clearly my team weakest link, but one day I will be better! I am slowly getting better, I mean I’ve lost like four weeks in a row right now, but I am learning a ton. Either way it is my own personal goal to run the whole rack and get my little pin for it! Yeah they have pins for those sort of things, the higher ranks are like “oh god a pin,” but I am young and new and I’m like “I want it!”
Complete a Dozen Escape Rooms
- Love escape rooms, therefore I need to do more.
See a Play on Broadway
- So fun fact about me: I love plays and musicals and I pretty much grew up on them. I go to the theatre almost every month and sadly I’ve been to New York twice and have yet to go see a play.
Stay in a Haunted Hotel
- Sounds like a potentially good story and something I know I’d talk about.
Ride First Class
- I gotta know whats there!
Have the best Theme Party
- The best will obviously be hard to define, but essentially I really want to have a themed something that literally feels like the best decision/plan I’ve ever had. Oddly enough I do think I have a plan already in the works, but it’s still too rough to discuss.
Go to a World Festival
- Would absolutely love to go to Holi, but if the chance arises to go to a different one I will definitely take the opportunity!
Cook Everything in a Cookbook
- I’m talking about a single cookbook and doing all the recipes! I do realize this may coincide with one of my health goals for learning healthy recipes, but that’s only after I have made it 5 times. So this may help me out! Either way cooking everything from a book deserves total bragging rights.
Drive an Expensive Sports Car
- I didn’t fully complete this the other day as I only parked it to a spot that was like 15 feet away, but I sense I can properly do this one someday soon since you know I at least got to park one.
Teach dog utterly useless, but cool trick
- Honestly this may be done. I don’t know what I have trained my dog, but she responds to conversations with sarcastic and loving eyes. So potentially she may know something that she just picked up on from me.
